Actress Jadwiga Barańska has died. The artist's death was announced on social media by her husband Jerzy Antczak and son Mikołaj. Among her many roles, she is best remembered as Barbara Niechcic from the film "Nights and Days.”

A symbolic tombstone of František Kubica, a Polish theology student executed by the Germans on January 13, 1943, in neighboring Otice, was unveiled yesterday before noon at the Opava City Cemetery. The initiative leading to a dignified commemoration of this young Pole came from Otice community activists who, in spite of the passing years, did not forget him.
