JABŁONKÓW: THE LANGUAGE OF THIS WORLD IS JOY AND HOSPITALITY
The 79th "Gorolski Święto” festival came to a close yesterday in Jabłonków. Sunday is the day when PZKO ensembles, in particular, have the opportunity to perform on stage, though there is no shortage of guest performers from abroad either. 

OSTRAVA: THEY DO NOT FORGET THE CRIMES OF COMMUNISM
It has been 75 years since the execution of members of an anti-communist underground group in Ostrava. On August 1, 1951, in the courtyard of the District Court—just one day after the death sentence was handed down—four men from the so-called "anti-state terrorist group of Miroslav Sýkora and associates” were hanged. 

GUTY: NINE YEARS SINCE THE FIRE
Last weekend marked nine years since the fire that destroyed the wooden Corpus Christi Church in Gutach, one of the most valuable historical monuments in Cieszyn Silesia. On the night of August 1-2, 2017, the church was set on fire and burned to the ground within a few hours. Dating back to 1563, it was the oldest surviving wooden church in Cieszyn Silesia. Its destruction sparked a powerful wave of solidarity.

Marek Grycz is not slowing down this year! On Monday evening, the effect of the Bystrzyca modern pentathlon program won a bronze medal in the relay alongside Matouš Tůma at the European Championships in Istanbul.
