THE
CREATIVE VOICE OF POLES IN SLOVAKIA
A special
issue? Every issue is special. And the most difficult one? Perhaps the
Polish-Slovak edition commemorating the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining
independence, says Małgorzata Wojcieszyńska, editor-in-chief of Monitor
Polonijny, which has been published in Slovakia for 30 years. On the first
Saturday of February, its birthday was celebrated in Bratislava. There were
congratulations, a packed audience at the V-Club, and, of course, a birthday
cake.
A HUNDRED
YEARS OLD AND STILL IN SUCH GREAT SHAPE. NOTHING BUT ENVY
Miroslava
Křistková from Havířov turned 100 on Sunday. On this special day, she was
visited by the new mayor, Iveta Kočí-Palkovská, who brought her a bouquet of
flowers, birthday gifts, and wishes for good health, happiness, and many more
joyful moments.
