Recitation contest "Kresy
2023" in Český Těšín. Robin and Iza will go to Białystok
Robin
Lipowski, a third-grade student of the Juliusz Slowacki Polish Gymnasium in
Český Těšín, won the XXVIII central qualifying round of the "Kresy
2023" recitation contest for Poles in the Czech Republic, which took place
at the "Strzelnica" Cultural Center on Thursday, November 16.
Together with Izabela Bolek from the third grade of the same middle school (she
took ex aequo second place with Karolina Filipczyk), they will represent the
Czech Republic in December in Bialystok in the finals of the A. Mickiewicz
Recitation Contest for Poles abroad "Kresy 2023."
Success of "Open
Churches". Nearly a quarter of a million visitors. The number
of visitors from Poland is growing

243,499 people took advantage of the opportunity to visit 39 churches in the
Moravian-Silesian region this season, reported Ondřej Elbel of the
Ostrava-Opava diocese. Organized for the seventh time, the "Open
Churches" project provided access to the region's major religious
monuments. Among the visitors, there are more tourists from Poland.
Ceremonial meeting with the Polish minority at the
Polish embassy in Prague
Representatives
of the Polish minority in the Czech Republic met on Wednesday, November 15, at
the Polish Embassy in Prague for a ceremony marking the 105th anniversary of
Poland's independence on November 11. The meeting was attended, among others,
by representatives of the Congress of Poles in the Czech Republic, the main
board of the Polish Cultural and Educational Association in the Czech Republic
and Polish social activists active in various fields for Polishness in the
Czech Republic.
Havířov: major traffic circle
renovation begins. Drivers will face several days of difficulties
Wednesday,
November 15, marks the beginning of the renovation of the main traffic circle
in Havířov along I/11 (the intersection of Ostrava, Do Dworca, Railroaders,
Orlovskaya and Main Streets). The pavement replacement work will be carried out
from 5pm to 7am every day, so outside rush hour. But even so, drivers must
expect several days of traffic difficulties.
Champions League: Successful
start of play offs for Třinec and Vítkovice
After the
first games of 1/8 of the Champions Hockey League, joy reigned in the camps of
both Trzyniec and Wítkowice. The Steelers defeated Swedish team Skellefteå 4:3
at home, while Vítkovice won with a 0:3 walkover on the Finnish Lahti ice. The
rematches are next week.
