Even if you don't have your own skates, you can still enjoy the ice rinks, as skates are usually available for rent on site. This season, outdoor ice rinks are open in Havířov and Ostrava, among other places. A rink is also being prepared in Dolní Lomná. 

KARVINÁ: RECORD AMOUNT RAISED DURING FAIR
On Monday, January 5, at 4 p.m., the Roman Catholic parish in Karviná will donate the proceeds from the sale of Christmas decorations at a charity stand during this year's Advent market at the Polish House in Karviná-Raj. "The amount collected is a record," announces Tereza Ondrusz, pastoral assistant of the parish. 

A NEW INITIATIVE IN PIOTROWICE: SLOWING DOWN AND CONVERSATION
Between Christmas and New Year's Eve, there were very few events in the region. On Sunday, however, one could not get bored in Piotrowice. Bogdana Najder organized an event called "Piotrowicka kawiarnia" (Petrovice Café).

It has already become a tradition. On New Year's Eve, the Tipsport Extraliga gains momentum, and fans prefer to enjoy good hockey instead of eating Christmas cookies. Just like today at Werk Arena, where Stalownicy Trzyniec hosted the current RC champions, Kometa Brno. The exciting match ended in a 3:3 tie and went into penalty shots, which were won by Stalownicy.
