IN THE
FOOTSTEPS OF THE "STRZAŁY” PARTISAN UNIT
The Cieszyn
Library invites you to a meeting on Thursday, June 11, at 5:00 p.m., dedicated
to the history of the only regular unit of the Home Army operating in Zaolzie
Silesia during World War II. Most of its soldiers were young Poles from Karviná
and the surrounding towns.
THEY DIDN'T
REST ON THEIR LAURELS. THEY SANG THEIR HEARTS OUT
The
"Trallala” and "Trallalinki” children’s choirs wrapped up another singing
season on Tuesday evening. The concert by both groups, led by teacher Beata
Brzóska at the Polish Elementary School in Český Těšín, took place at the
Evangelical Church of Na Niwach. They were accompanied on the piano by Andrzej
Molin.
OSTRAVA/KARVINÁ:
SUCCESS IN THE BRAILLE COMPETITION
Thirteen-year-old
Tomáš Plecháček from Karviná succeeded in the regional round of the Braille
competition in Ostrava. Although he was one of the youngest participants, he
managed to take third place in the computer keyboard typing competition.
BYSTRZYCA:
ORŁY ZAOLZIA VS. THE POLISH WRITERS' NATIONAL TEAM ON SATURDAY
It’s going
to be a blast! A preview of the World Cup is coming up this Saturday in
Bystrzyca, where the Orły Zaolzia and Polish Writers teams will face off in a
charity match at noon on the field next to the elementary school. This is the
first time these teams have played each other, so it promises to be a thrilling
match.
