BOOKS BY POLISH AUTHORS WERE READ AT THE MARKET IN KARVINÁ
Adam Mickiewicz’s *Dziady* was performed in the town square in Karviná as part of the nationwide "National Reading” campaign. Anna Olszewska, the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Ostrava, read an excerpt from the third part of Mickiewicz’s drama on stage. Meanwhile, as part of the "Čti za nároďák!” campaign, Andrzej Bizoń, Vice Mayor of Karviná, read an excerpt from Agata Romaniuk’s "Kocia Szajka”—specifically, "Kocia Szajka and the Fire at the Castle”—a book popular in Poland that was recently published in Czech.

BŁĘDOWICE: "DZIADY” IN THE ATTIC OF A 115-YEAR-OLD SCHOOL
Teachers at the Polish-Language Elementary School and Preschool in Hawierzów-Błędowice opted for an unusual but very creative way to hold the National Reading event. "Darkness everywhere, silence everywhere, what will it be, what will it be?”—the words echoed through the attic of the Błędowice school with the lights turned off, as students read an excerpt from *Dziady* equipped with headlamps and dressed in costumes inspired by Adam Mickiewicz’s drama.

BOGDAN KOKOTEK: THE THEATER HAS A DUTY TO EXPERIMENT
On Saturday, September 12, the Polish Stage of the Cieszyn Theater will celebrate its 75th anniversary. In an interview with Bogdan Kokotek, the company’s artistic director for the past 23 years, we look back to 1951 only once. We focus much more on the present and on what Scena Polska should and shouldn’t do.

"THE DREAM IS TO BE AMONG THE ELITE. FOR NOW, WE HAVE TO WORK OUR WAY UP TO IT”
An interview with Wiktoria Sikorska, a hockey player from Chorzów who grew up and took her first steps in hockey in our region. Today, the forward plays for Södertälje SK, which competes in Sweden’s top league. She talks about her journey from local hockey to a foreign club, the atmosphere surrounding hockey in Poland, and shares memories of her time at the Polish Elementary School in Czeski Cieszyn.
