OVER 400 EXLIBRISES BY ZBIGNIEW KUBECZKA
With an
exhibition in the Przystanek Grafika Gallery at the Museum of Printing in
Cieszyn, creative circles from both banks of the Olza River are celebrating the
85th anniversary of Zbigniew Kubeczka from Orlová. This afternoon (Thursday, October 19) the
opening of this well-known and respected not only in the region, but probably
throughout Europe, exlibris creator’s exhibition took place here.- Exlibris
is not only graphic art. It is a matter of interpersonal contacts and contacts
with those for whom exlibrises are made, and with others who are interested in
it - the artist told "Głos".

RENEWED SYMBOL OF THE MARIANSKY SQUARE
The Baroque
statue of the Immaculate Virgin Mary, decorated with floral motifs and figures
of three angels, which was erected in 1755 and from which the market takes its
name, has been restored in Jablunkov's Mariánski Square.

CIESZYN: WILL A RECORD BE SET? IN POLISH MIDDLE SCHOOL THEY READ AT BREAK TIME
Instead of their
second breakfast they went out into the corridors with a book in hand. On
Wednesday, at the long break, young people at the J. Slowacki Polish Gymnasium
in Český Těšín set a record for reading at recess. The event was called
"Gimpel reads" and took place within the framework of a nationwide
project that over the years has crossed national borders.It is a
project of the Pedagogical Library of the Provincial Methodological Center in
Gorzów Wielkopolski entitled "Reading break - breaking the record in
reading at recess". It is aimed at all educational institutions in Poland,
their partner institutions abroad and Polish-speaking schools in the world.

THE FINAL STAGE OF RAILROAD STATION RECONSTRUCTION HAS BEGUNT
he Railway
Administration has begun the final stage of the railroad station's
reconstruction which will end with the modernization of access to the platforms
and tracks. The undertaking costs 3.5 billion crowns and will take 35 months. The
reconstruction will affect the lives of drivers, pedestrians and public
transport passengers. An example? On December 4, demolition of the railroad
bridge over Ostravska Street (before the turn to Shona) will begin, which will
have a significant impact on traffic in the direction of Ostrava and Havířov,
as traffic will be merged to one lane on each side.

POEMS BY EWA SABELA-FURTEK
Ewa Sabela-Furtek has published a new
collection of poems entitled. "Between Heaven and Earth." The English
teacher, palliative care volunteer and poet in one argues in an interview with
"Głos" that it is in this space, which is not easy to define, that
she has been feeling good lately.
