The 34th edition of the International Theater Festival Without Borders/Bez hranic is underway in Cieszyn and Český Těšín. The event, which began on Friday, referred to the 115th anniversary of the Adam Mickiewicz Theater building in Cieszyn, which has been the stage for festival performances for 34 years. However, instead of the traditional "Happy Birthday" the audience dressed in birthday caps and paper trumpets and formed a spontaneous orchestra under the baton of Janusz Legon, the festival's artistic director. 

The Zaolzie folk band "Czerchla" is preparing a new event for Sunday, October 12. It will be held at the "posiónek" in Nydek, where the traditional "Strzigani owiec" takes place. Its name is "Światło z posiónka". 

This year's edition of "Fedrowani z folklorym" was unique for several reasons: it took place in the last year of coal mining in the Ostrava-Karviná coalfield, the program managed to include the Roma national minority for the first time, and the highlight of the program was a mining musical. 

Marian Adámek became the hero of the Třinec Steelers today in the match of the 9th round of the Tipsport Ekstraliga field hockey league against Kladno, won by the hosts 3:2. The Třinec defender scored two goals, including the most important one at 3:2 in overtime after a beautiful individual action.
