HOW DOES DIOCESE
OF OSTRAVA-OPAVA PAY ITS PRIESTS?
Catholics
in the Diocese of Ostrava-Opava can support the ministry of priests through
donations. The Bishop’s Office in Ostrava is encouraging them to do so. In
three years’ time, it will no longer receive any state funding for clergy
salaries.

COAL TAKES CENTER STAGE
The reading
week at the Henryk Sienkiewicz Polish-Language Elementary School in Jabłonków
came to an extraordinary conclusion. Starting Monday, during the first lessons,
teachers read excerpts from Gustaw Morcinek’s "Łysek z pokładu Idy” to
second-grade students, and on Friday, workshops centered on coal were
organized.
FIRE AT WAREHOUSE
IN PARDUBICE MAY BE LINKED TO TERRORISM
A fire at a
warehouse in the industrial district of Pardubice, which broke out on Friday
morning, may be linked to terrorism, according to Czech Interior Minister
Lubomír Metnar. According to Czech media, the arson may be connected to the
conflict in the Middle East.

Tipsport Ekstraliga ice hockey league is delivering more and more excitement.
With the quarterfinal series between Hradec Králové and Stalovci Třinec kicking
off today, the adrenaline rush has also spread to hockey fans in our region. In
the first quarterfinal game, the Třinec players were more accurate, winning 4-2
in Hradec Králové.
