ORLOVA: A
TOWER WITH A "GUILTY VERDICT”
The
landscape of Orlová will undergo another change in the coming months. Only the
historic steel shaft tower will remain of the former Lazy Mine, which was named
Antonín Zápotocký until 1991. Other structures have been earmarked for
demolition, among them the concrete skip tower that dominates the area and was
used to transport coal to the surface.

"THUMBELINA” FULL OF COLORS AND MUSIC
Jablonkov's school play "Thumbelina,”
based on the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, is delighting audiences. On
Thursday morning it was seen at the PZKO House by children from local schools.
There will be performances for parents today and tomorrow at 3:30 pm.
JAN "PTASZYN” WRÓBLEWSKI IS DEAD
Saxophonist, composer and promoter of
jazz music Jan "Ptaszyn” Wroblewski has died at the age of 88. The news of the
artist's death was announced Tuesday by his family via social media.
OSTRAVA: HOT ON THE ICE. FIELD HOCKEY MC
IS STARTING

emotions. On Friday, the elite field hockey world championships begin in Prague
and Ostrava, in which the Poles will also play after a 22-year break. Coach
Róbert Kaláber's team is preparing for their first clash in Ostrava, which is
scheduled for 4:20 p.m. on Saturday.
