Citizens of EU member states are electing a new parliament. In the Czech Republic, elections will be held on Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8, and in Poland on Sunday, June 9.  The entire European Parliament has 751 seats.

Palkowice was awarded the Golden Ribbon in the Village of the Year 2024 competition within the Moravian-Silesian province. Thus, they advanced to the national round of the competition. Gnojnik ranked second. Ribbons and financial prizes from the Ministry of Regional Development will also go to Bukowiec, Smilovice, Wielopole.

On Saturday, June 8, the second edition of the event called the Ninefold Festival will be held on the Tri-State. As the organizers announce, there will be something for the body and soul.

The prestigious J&T Banka Ostrava Beach Pro beach volleyball tournament has kicked off in Ostrava's Lower Vítkovice, with the participation of, among others, current world champions, the pair of Ondřej Perušič and David Schweiner. After Wednesday's qualifiers, Thursday was reserved for matches in the group stage.
